Navigating the rugged coastline of the Salish Sea, our crew set out to explore the waters surrounding Vancouver Island. A sanctuary of cold-water surf and untouched wilderness, we followed the call of the wild in search of adventure between sea and sky.
Crossing a wooden bridge deep in a lush forest, we entered a raw landscape of pine groves and clear flowing rivers. Vancouver Island, resting off the West Coast of Canada, shelters the inlets and scattered archipelagos of the Salish Sea.
Gathering at Horseshoe Bay, just north of Vancouver, the Cornish contingent met with our Canadian crew to make the crossing — united by a shared eagerness to explore beneath the towering canopy that stretches from shoreline to summit.
Carrying everything we would need for the journey, we established base camp on the tranquil shores of Lake Cowichan. Each morning began with an invigorating swim, a ritual that awakened the spirit and prepared us for the day’s adventures.
From fishing by mountain lakes to surfing the rolling waves, from long hikes through misty trails to quiet evenings around the fire, we ventured from sea to sky clad in uncompromising outerwear from mythirdjersey — built to keep us outside longer, comfortable in the elements, and ready for whatever lay ahead.
As the days passed, awe filled our hearts at the raw beauty of the island and the abundance of life both above and beneath the tideline. We left with tired legs, but full spirits — carrying with us a sense of belonging to a place that feels like home each time we return.
Now, with autumn approaching, we turn our gaze forward — ready to welcome the season and embrace the adventures still to come.
